After nearly 2 months without internet access we are finally connected again! We're settling in nicely into our apartment here in NYC, and keeping busy! The boys and I have been busy exploring all the parks and playgrounds within walking distance of our apartment, and while they nap or sleep I've been steadily unpacking all of our boxes and getting organized. Between local thrift stores, Craigslist, and Ikea we've just about got all the furniture we need (we had sold a lot of stuff in Austin that we didn't think would work for us here) so nearly everything we have can be "put away" somewhere now...I was growing weary of all the piles of stuff everywhere! We had to find some cabinets, etc. here because while our apartment is actually quite large, there is very little closet space, especially compared to our house in Texas which was nearly the same size, but had tons of closet/storage space plus an attic. There is so much to talk about, but I have to figure out where to start. Life here is so different from what we were used to in Texas! Some of the differences are daunting, some are just minor frustrations, but for the most part we are really enjoying being here! Now that I have internet access again, I'll try to slowly catch up on what we've been up to. Here are a few photos. I've got to do better at remembering to take the camera out with us more, so we can document our adventure in pictures!!
Josiah relaxing in his stroller...
Stopping for a drink after walking to Central Park...
Playing at a playground at the northwest corner of Central Park. This is as far as we've ventured on foot so far, but we plan on exploring the whole park...and it's huge!
Posing on a giant boulder outside the playground...
Check back! We should have more of our adventure posted here soon!!
