Joshua posing with his pumpkin...
Jonathan
Jordan...tree hugger AND pumpkin hugger!
Joey and his pumpkin...
I just cut them all in half, hand out spoons, and they do (most of) the rest...
Scooping out seeds...
More seeds...the boys love roasted pumpkin seeds. We ended up filling the glass bowl shown here!
Josh and Jon hard at work.
Joey's still hard at work...
Ewwww! Pumpkin goo!
Smile for the camera, Jordan!
Silly boy! It's not a hat!
Some of our finished halves, ready to pop in the oven.
We ended up with about 32 cups of pumpkin puree. So far we've made 6 loaves of pumpkin bread (I freeze them for later) and we've had pumpkin pancakes twice. We also froze a lot of the puree to use later. Joshua has been begging for pumpkin pie, so we'll be making that as well! Yummmmm!

Oh, fun!! We, too, are making pumpkin bread at our house (ours comes from a fancy box with "Krusteaz" printed across the top.) Gotta love Costco!! Oh and no gooey mess.
Oh, but the gooey mess is half the fun! (I can say that now that cleaning up that gooey mess is at least a week behind me, lol!) I'm sure Krusteaz is good, too. Yep, gotta love Costco...actually Costco should love ME since I spend a small fortune (to me!) there every month!!
Unfortunately, I didn't completely escape the "goo" route. We are still going to carve pumpkins, I'm just not cooking them. The Krusteaz pumpkin spice bread is THE BOMB!! Quite tasty. Costco gets their share of $$$ from us too.
Oh how I remember the mess when all of you kids carved pumpkins. I just want to know who gets to eat the pumpkin meat that started on Joey's head? Looks like everyone had a great time helping.
You know, Mom, I ALMOST posted this, thinking that someone would wonder about the pumpkin on Joey's head, then decided not to:
Yes, we DID wash off both pumpkin AND head after that incident! I figure a good rinse-off followed by baking for an hour or so was sufficient for the pumpkin...Joey needed some actual scrubbing, but what else is new? :)
We can now call Joey "Pumpkin Head".
Looks like the boys had tons of fun, which is what it's all about.
What ADORABLE little boys you have. The pumpkin adventure looks like fun. 32 Cups of pumpkin puree'...WOW! That's a lot of pumpkin!
I'm on momys and I'm not sure if we've ever 'talked' but I just thought I'd say hello!
Lynnette :)
